2008 neighborhood tour
May 17, 2008 NORTHERN LIBERTIES NEIGHBORS ASSOCIATION HOUSE TOUR Do you have a house, apartment or living space that you love? The Northern Liberties Neighborhood Association (NLNA) is partnering with Friends of Independence National Historic Park’s 30th Philadelphia Open House Tours. This annual event showcases the city’s best historical, architectural and cultural treasures. We need a few more places for our neighborhood walking tour on Saturday, May 17. The time commitment is from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Proceeds from this event support the Friends’ preservation and education efforts as well as the NLNA. Homeowners open their houses to visitors and can talk about the history of the house, how/why you decorated it, special characteristics of the house and/or what drew you to Northern Liberties. Contact Barbara at basaverino@yahoo.com to sign up your house, apartment or living space as part of the tour. |

Hey folks. I actually CLEANED for this event. That alone is worth the $30 ticket. Stop by 704 N. 3rd Street to get tickets. Then stop by my place to applaud my efforts. Ken |

Thank you to all who participated in today's tour. I especially want to acknowledge those who opened their doors for the visitors and were willing to talk about the decoration/renovations as well as personal neighborhood experiences. Everyone raved about the variety of architecture and how friendly everyone was that they met. If you are interested in participating in next year's tour, let me know. |
