It is our hope that this can become a place to discuss the comings and goings of our neighborhood; a forum to dialogue about the events and affairs that shape our common future and a platform for us to reaffirm our love for this community.

HTML savvy?
I need someone to show me how to create an HTML e-newsletter in Photoshop and email it to clients w/o the photos disappearing, etc. I'm also at the end of my deadline and need to do this ASAP. If you can do this, let me know. I can pay a reasonable rate. |

this is just FYI (not an attempt to be snarky and bust your balls): Many email clients (including Thunderbird and the gmail web client) will filter HTML and not display linked images automatically, unless the user (ie, the recipient of the email message) specifies otherwise. |

Pitsheltie, I'm not at all above you busting my balls... I'm not web savvy at all and I need to know this stuff. Entourage does the same thing. What would be my alternative? I don't want to do an attachment. I guess I could create the newsletter in Photoshop and then do "insert picture." Not sure if that would work. |

Plenty of free/cheap newsletter web apps out there. If you are using your own mail client make sure you use the BCC so everyone does not see the recipients and "reply to alls" do not go to your list. Second...you could create a web version of your newsletter and include a link at the top of your email instructing anyone having difficulties to look at a full version. Third, depending on your goals, consider some basic metrics like tracking how many people open it or how many people click on critical ($ generating) links. Here is a decent eMail Marketing application service provider. http://www.icontact.com/lp/emailmarketing2.php |
