Is there a gay night in Nolibs? Anywhere?
We're a young gay couple that just moved to the neighborhood a few months ago. We love it here but have no idea if there's a gay scene here at all--the trek to the gayborhood in CC is getting tired. It would be nice if we could get something going. The businesses here all seem sooo gay friendly.. |

hey there, a while ago a place up at 5th and jefferson posted on here, rainbow eye... was supposed to be a gay club... however we visited one night in the beginning and it was very un-gay and very uncrowded as well. not really our scene. there's nothing else i'm aware of, but there are a lot of gay-friendly businesses in the area, starting with one shot coffee on liberties walk. |

there is no "gay" bars or restruants in the area. Have found everywhere I have been, has been very friendly and a mixed crowd at times. Some of the owners and staff know my friends and I are, and been treated no diffrently. |

We have an 80's night tonight. The crowd we get is very mixed. And if it helps Charlie used to work at Pure. Don't forget if anyone from the area comes out we have a collection jar for the reward fund from this week's attack. Its behind the bar--just ask if you want to put something in. |

why don't you come out to our happy hour thursday? we'll be at ortliebs. i put 6 on the thing but realized i'll probably be a bit later than that - after work i need to pick up the rental car for our vacation which commences immediately following happy hour. i don't know why i overbook myself so.

the beauty of the neighborhood is that its pretty gay friendly and we don't need a "special night" in a secret location. just pick a place you like, invite some friends and show up. if others like the vibe the word might spread. see ya out there. |

NoLibs is not friendly to gays. To give you a heads up, gays are more likely to be subject to crime here. |

I've lived in northern liberties for 15 years and I couldn't disagree with you more. |

I couldn't disagree with Liberty City any more either. I happen to be straight but most of my friends in the neighborhood are gay and lesbian and they've and I have never been treated better or worse than anyone else, which is how it should be. |

I also couldn't diagree anymore, NL is probably thee most friendly neighborhood in Philadelphia. There is a huge mix of people here, but everyone that I have encountered thus far have been very welcoming. I Love it here!!! |

i agree with the previous sentiments..i have been here since november and have never had a problem. i feel very comfortable walking around here with my boyfriend, and have never had an issue. granted, we aren't walking around holding hands, but we don't do that in cc either. it is great to see that there is a thriving and growing lgbt community in nl, and i am happy to be a part of it.
