I've taken some pictures of the food I've tried so far, but have yet to write a full review. If you want a sneak peak at the eats, without critical commentary, click this link. |

It's good. It ain't perfect, but it's good. They don't have the crust quite right, but I'm gonna give it a few weeks and see how the veggie pie is. The bad part about my trip was George giving me the stink eye as I walked by with a pizza box. |

frank - cheating on george??!! i ate at home slice last night, too... but i've got to say, i've TOTALLY gotten hooked on george's pizza the last few months. dare i say its now my favorite in the hood (sorry rustica!!). triple kalamata olive pie plus a case of yards philly pale ale from the distributor over at 9th and girard and i am SET for the night. two nights, even. i agree home slice needs to work on their crust. the sauce is also way sweet for my taste, and there's a lot of it. if you're a sweet sauce fan you're going to like this place i think. the cheese is good. the walls inside are cute. |

I think George puts crack in his pizza. Once you eat it for a few months you can't stop. And George's is bar none the best reheated next day pizza there is. |

Does George mix his dough with his feet by any chance? Looking at that establishment I often think to myself that if someone were to mix dough with their feet and then sell it to the general public, it would be out of that building |

George's delivers. However, if you like George's, Central Pizza at Girard and Columbia is even better. The Hawaiian is amazing. |

hey snugz - after the drag show you should totally come out to happy hour. i am dying to know if you are as funny in real life. i will even make it worth your while and buy you a beer!!! no pressure or anything. george's pizza 201 W Girard Ave Philadelphia, PA 19123 (215) 236-5288 yes they deliver, and they're cheap as hell. a small extra olives kalamata pie comes to $9 something. if you order enough, you get a free 2-ltr freaky soda. i say freaky because it's usually like a diet off-brand grape soda or something like that. george actually lives here in the neighborhood... on or near george if i remember correctly. now that's a hell of a way to introduce yourself.

Keith - I'm confused. Most men have underarm hair, would you not eat a pizza served to you by a man? |

Is the threat of the 9-year-old Jihadists over? Are we finished with the boycott now? I guess the boycott was effective since apparently the reign of terror on Liberties Walk is now over. Thanks to all you brave souls. |

So my hubby and I were very excited to try Home Slice tonight... we go there to find out that they were closed due to partying too much the night before (per sign on door) They must have made alot of money the past week to be closed on a Friday... |

Same here. Husband and I went over last nite, saw the sign, went to George's instead, thanks to the recommendations above. Hey, maybe I'll try that excuse on my boss: "Gee, I can't come in, too much partying last nite." Oh, wait, I have a real job at a real business. Sorry, Home Slice, that's LAME. |

I suppose when you own your own business you can do what you want, maybe they had a good reason for taking the day off, it was a pretty raging party the night before. If I were you, I'd give Home Slice a try, its **** good. |

"Oh, wait, I have a real job at a real business" That's an incredibly closed minded and lame statement in itself. Since when is working at a restaurant not a "real job"? I bet you with your "real job" only dream of being able to unchain yourself from your desk and enjoy living your life again. Way to be, Home Slice. A greater income doesn't buy a happy life. I'm glad there's at least one business in the neighborhood that knows how to step away for a minute and not just suck every penny they can for the sake of sucking pennies. It shows they care about their product and their customers. |

By real job and real business, I meant people who serve their customers, not party and keep whatever hours they please. What pizza joint isn't open on a Fri nite? Yeah, close-minded to think a pizza place should be open during normal hours. That's really serving your customers. And by the way, I don't work at a desk, smartie. |
