Watch Out Watch Out There's A Thief About Part 2
Can you believe it, Dover RFC are at it again. A few months ago we had our former coach now "helping" Dover phoning up our players asking them to go over to Dover RFC. Now their lead coach, Graham Tonks, has been on the phone to one of our best young players who has been at Folkestone since he was a young Mini inviting him to go over to deepest Dover for pre-season training. OK MAYBE Mr Tonks thinks he can help us by training one of our players or am I right in thinking this is just a cynical attempt to lure players to Dover. For the record our player isn't interested. So Mr Tonks maybe you can find a little respect, honour and morals and if you want to coach any of our lads have the courtesy to speak to our coach first. My message to other local clubs in East Kent is to watch out for the Dover poachers. Thank God I'm a Stone and I hope we never stoop to that pathetic level. Play for YOUR club lads, good times and bad. Hard work on the training pitch will get us back up in LSE 3 and then who knows. |

Yes I heard this today and was gobsmacked. I spoke to Dover Chairman Dick Catt some weeks ago after Turbutt trie dit on and he assured me that it was not Dover's policy to do this sort of thing. I know he looks in here from time to time so hopefully he will speak to Grahma Tonks and tell him to leave our players alone. It is not very honourable what he's apparently done. |
