Zac & Cheryl
Just to let you all know that Zac & Cheryl are settling in nicely with us. Zac pretty much made himself at home right from the minute he got here and is quite a dab hand at getting your attention with a major headbutt (I have the odd bruise to prove it!!!!) We have seen a huge leap forward with Cheryl's confidence today - up till now she would tolerate us touching her if she couldn't see a way to get past us, but today she has actually started coming over occasionally and pawing me (Yvonne) to get me to cuddle her. She is stil not keen on us approaching her, but considering how frightened she was, that has been a massive step for her. It has put Zac's nose out of joint a bit - having to share all the cuddles...... BTW Anyone got any tips on how to cure greyhound gas?? |

Hi Yvonne Try natural yogurt - Megan loves it and Celia mentioned it when we got her earlier in the year. We give her some every morning - she loves it. There are lots to chose from - we give Megan Onken bio natural set yogurt - its a bit thicker. It works a treat for her - it can be pretty bad cant it?? Hope it works for you - just a suggestion. It looks as if Cheryl is coming on a treat - thats wonderful - time is a great healer isnt it? I dont know the circumstances with Cheryl but I hope she continues to improve. Best wishes Christine |

Hi Yvonne, avoiding dog meat (tinned) does the trick for Allie and Nipper. Last week Allie wasn't well and off her food so I bought some tinned meat to encourage her to eat. Gave Nipper some too and the air was evil. Nipper broke wind every step he took down the stairs to the garden!! |

Thanks for the advice - Have given them some natural yoghurt. I have been giving them tinned dogfood as well as dried as that's what they were getting in the kennel, and not having had greys before, I wasn't sure if it was necessary for their diet or not. I know we didn't feed tinned food to our previous dog because of the wind issue, but wasn't sure about cutting it out of our greys' diet. Sorry for rambling!!!! |
