Some good dog foods.

Hi,

I thought the post about Zac and Cheryl producing a lot of gas was hilarious. I just thought I would follow it up with a few suggestions for feeding that don't seem to have that effect and they are good and cheap dry foods.

At present we are feeding our four on Dr John Silver Medal. It's made by a really good firm called Gibertson and Page and should be widely available, comes in 15 KG bags that cost around £8. Get the silver medal one though, the gold medal is too high protein for a pet dog.

Next, Supa Greyhound. Another good dry food at around the same price. 18% or 20% protein, I forget which but just right for your couch potato. 25% is too much and can cause liver and kidney problems.

Finally, but not least Gilpa Valu Mix. Valu without the "e". Also made by Gilbertson and Page and similar in price and protein levels. All as good as each other in our experience, just a matter of which your dog likes best. Shouldn't have any trouble with stinks with these.

John.

Re: Some good dog foods.

I tried mine on the Dr John and he was fine but found that the supa greyhound gave him dreadful diarrhoea.

May give some of these a try John especially with Corky, he is so bad now that he even leaves the room after he has "dropped" one
