Jill & Dusty

Hello,
I thought it was about time that we updated everyone on how Jill & Dusty have settled in. Firstly, a big thank you to Helen & Dave who did a fantastic job as foster carers, they settled in quite quickly and impressed their vet by how healthy and well behaved they were.
Dusty was a regular visitor to the vet as she hurt her paw and a piece of grit had to be removed from her pad. Apart from shorter walks it caused her no major discomfort and she would lift her sore paw for sympathy every chance she got. At first we weren't sure about her as she is so different to Jill and seemed a bit strange, but shortly after we adopted her she came into season and was a bit out of sorts - now it is all over, she is fine.
Dusty is very laid back and a little bit stubborn, she doesn't take no for an answer - especially when she wants on the couch and there is no room - she will just find a small space and slowly push herself between you and the couch until you give up and give her your seat!! She has even tried sitting on Donald's lap!! She doesn't chase her toys in the garden, but will watch excitedly as Jill tears up and down.
Jill is very affectionate and gets overexcited sometimes - she jumps in greeting for the first person up each morning and often all four paws are off the ground!!
Both are an absolute treat to walk - I walk them every morning for about 40 minutes (a bit longer at the weekends) and they will sleep all day. They also have an hour long walk before bedtime and a shorter one in the afternoon. They love to walk and walk together side by side, Dusty had to be cajoled back into the house this morning after her walk!!
Jill & Dusty have taken over our lives - I can't remember the last time one of the humans in the house was able to sit on the couch - but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Re: Jill & Dusty

Great to hear that the girls are doing so well guys.Just wondering if you have been able to leave them alone in the house for a while on their own? Dusty only started to go on the couch about a week before she left here but she is a fast learner! Give them both a big cuddle from us.

Regards

Re: Jill & Dusty

We are just back from a weeks camping in Wester Ross; Jill & Dusty had a great time on a nice big empty beach when they really got to stretch their legs.
We have left them in alone several times and they both were fine - very excited when we got back.
Jill & Dusty are such a handsome pair that they get comments everywhere we go, and yes, it is all going to their heads.
