The power of the stickers !!!!
There are 2 sisters who pass through the place i keep my horse, and they have a blue greyhound bitch, and a border collie.. This particular day, they passed with only the collie.. Naturally i asked the whereabouts of the greyhound...and yes you've guessed it, the poor thing had been ill,and had been destroyed the week before!!! I felt awful for them, as they took this girl everywhere.. They had encouraged me to get a greyhound actually, after i had expressed an interest in rescueing one.. Anyhow, i broached the subject somewhat tentatively about Celia and Jimmy, and of course, the sister whose dog is was, seemed reluctant to think about it so soon, understandably, but the other sister was quite keen, simply as it would mean company for her wee collie. I chatted away with them, being careful not mentioning the 'new dog' thing again, when they caught sight of the stickers on my car... well no sooner had i explained what they were, they had both whipped their phones out, and were frantically logging in the number!!!! This vision has stayed with me ever since, and it does bring a smile to my face.... So one day Celia and Jimmy, these lovely sisters will be ready, and another one of your family will move on to their forever home... xxx |
