Accepted/Rejected

Well it's that time again - are you in or out of London Marathon.

I have to say I received my very large (apparently a medium) fleece and have been rejected again (I won't take it personally...)

So get me in that club ballot!

Good luck everyone

Cheers

Re: Accepted/Rejected

me2.....reject....no puns please

Paula's in....thinks she is happy only 4 rejects & 4 miss-outs at club ballot.....

maybe I will get lucky....pun accepted there

so get your ballot slips ready.....dont see much point in waiting till xmas before we all know for sure...Will have a word from coach point of view as it gives a couple more months of steady build up....reckon if you can do comfy 2 & 1/2hrs or 15miles before xmas then the squeeze to fit everything in new year should be eased.

Still its XC weather today so where are my spikes...

Have fun

Re: Accepted/Rejected

Sitting here as I type in my comfy reject fleece top. At least I recalled that last years size large reject top was big enough to camp in and managed to get one that fits this year. 5 rejects in a row for me so will be in next year and happy to wait. There are loads of decent options for marathons in the spring. Its inevitable that I'll enter one of those, so if your rejected and want to enter another around the same time, lets get a rejected from London club going!

Re: Accepted/Rejected

well great joy for me to come home last night to my first ever accepted letter.

shame really - i was really looking forward to a new fleece to keep me warm during the winter.

good luck to all others in the club ballot, expecially to Val as i've become so used to her company on long runs - it would be just too strange to do it alone

First time reject for me. Not surprised really. It will be the Shakespear for me!

Re: Accepted/Rejected

Sue has been rejected for the fifth year in a row so she should qualify for an automatic entry for 2010.

Good news on the Good For Age front. We start at the front of the red start rather than behind the celebrities at the green start, which was a real pain and almost ended my race before it had started last year.

Bong! Rejected, dejected and another chuffing over large bit of clothing to add to the other years.

Well done to those that have been accepted. Grrr!

I should also have said that Carole is in on a Good for her Age place. I suppose I will have to act as her coach or something.

Double grrr

Re: Accepted/Rejected

Oh well, for those of you that fancy something a bit more exotic than a stomp along the Thames, there's also Prague (10th May 09), just a fortnight after London. Its now rated as one of the World's top 10 marathons and only an Easyjet away.

Re: Accepted/Rejected

Huge congratulations to all those who've got places and good luck with the training - only a 2nd year reject so three more years to go!

I am thinking of doing the Shakespeare Marathon if I'm not one of the lucky few for a club place.

There's nothing to stop everyone thinking and starting training now - be prepared as they say!!

Cheers

Re: Accepted/Rejected

Well, for the first time in 4 years a lovely acceptance letter.

Having watched Richard and Paul at their 56 miler yesterday (congratulations again), discussing the trials and tribulations of training for a 26.2 miler I am sure will fall on deaf ears!
