Franklands Village Part 2

Not sure if you have had a look fellas, but FV played Ardingly at the W/e in a league fixture that they won.......... Only Just! FV scraped through at home 2-1. Crawley Down 3's who are already in the Final went down 3-2 to Ashurst Wood! FV are gonna come with the mindset that they owe us one! Up until the weekend they were flying in the league, turning over teams for fun! Ardingly aint that great and nearly gotta draw with them!

We have beaten them once and we can beat them again. They are more than beatable. We know we can do it and we have to believe that we will do it!

Once past FV the final is anybodies game! We can bring some silverware back to the Village of Fletching and have an End of Season bash to remember (or not as the case may be)

Who wants boys? I can see it! can you???

UP THE VILLAGE!

Nothing to loose fellas...

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

COME ON FELLAS!!

We have to start preparing mentally for this game now, not trying to get psyched up for this on saturday morning over a cuppa tea, slice of toast with Soccer am on the goggle!

It aint like you orrible lot to be quiet! F**k sake boys, we will be playing in the biggest game in the clubs history, a Cup Final place a steak, never been done before by any of Fletchings previous teams. If we get past FV on Saturdays I reckon if we put Flyers up aroung the Village, we could get a good few locals out to support us plus family friends and colleagues, Piers may even lift the drinking ban and player Curfew he has on the seconds and let them come and watch us!

I aint too sure if people realise how big this game is on Saturday, and how big the rewards are for winning it!

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

I have come so close too many times with Burgess Hill Albion on too many occasions! 4 semi finals and not one final appearance!

Difference is boys is that back then I was in a team of Guttless wanabees, that choked when the big occasion came knocking!

I honestly believe that the grit and determination shown against AFC Ringmer, Turners Hill, Ardingly, Uckfield, Franklands Village part 1, even Village of Ditchling! that we aint like that!! Never say die is fast becoming a club motto! For the first time this season the last few games we have shown belief in each others abilities! actually worked for each other!

I few people have boiled over - because of the passion of the game! its f**king great to see as well!

My northerness i reckon is rubbing off on a few of you!

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

Well done boys. Nothing to worry about last saturday. Dispite our defence they only had two real shots and one penalty.

I now don't feel so alone as the only one lining the wallets of the mid-sussex league with fine money. Was i wrong or did Billy get a yellow for being slightly agressive?

Lets push on now and show FV that last time was no fluke.

Up the village!!!!!!

Archers on there way to Wembely? First time nails has been there since the war.

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

No, the Yellow was for me, a bit harsh I thought though, as I was only stating facts! Facts been..........................

....."For F**k sake ref, you have given us F**k all, all afternoon"

I dont feel as though this was anything other than the truth! I was brought up by my parents to always tell the truth, so if you want your money for the fine you can claim it back from Ma & Pa Lucey!!

Come on then boys, even Clive is getting in on the action, sending emails round! Anybody already get that nervous feeling already?

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

FVFC will have no problems beating you. They should have beaten us 3 - 0 on Saturday. The 2 -1 win wasn't a representation of their skill. (The 1 was an oggy). Come on Franklands!

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

I don't play. I just live in Ardingly and wander up to their pitch to watch them play. FVFC just aren't as lippy as you lot, but may the best team win!

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

For the record the game was at Franklands Village on Saturday so if you wandered up to Ardingly's pitch you would not have seen that game! Maybe you watched another team altogether...

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

Fletching lippy ? or is this just sour grapes from someone who wishes Ardingly were pushing for a place in the final. All that matters to me is giving a good account of ourselves on saturday, i for one didn't have the best of games saturday and i aim to put that right at the weekend,
It would be nice to see a big crowd up the rec and for once lads can we finish this in normal time as its Leons birthday and i have a party to goto

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

Sod giving a good account of ourselves! we done that that already by beating quality teams to be in this position.

I want nothing less than to be in the changing room saturday afternoon lobbing a barrel of water over Clive whilst dancing naked round the locker room (check me and my yankee slang) singing a chorus of "We're all off to (insert Final destination)" and then taking a dump in Barbies kit bag!

And getting right royaly mangled on cheap wine!!

WE AINT THERE ON SAT TO MAKE UP NUMBERS!!
Duffy

Mar 15th, 2007 - 2:17 PM
Re: Franklands Village Part 2

I wouldn't say we're lippy. We're just fed up of the teams from higher leagues thinking we're pushovers, and then when we do beat them using the excuse of luck.

And you know what? Sod all this talk about being 100% sure we'll beat Franklands Village- I'm not 100% sure of anything in life. What I am sure of though is that I'll be putting in everything I have on Saturday to make sure I don't leave that pitch thinking "what if I'd played better". No regrets. The only other thing, is that I'm going out there to enjoy myself.

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

This is better boys, we carry no one, win battle every challenge, we throw bodies into shots, tackles and whatever else we can!

What they cant do anything about is the fact that WE ARE FLETCHING, WE DONT KNOW HOW TO LIE DOWN< WE DONT KNOW WHEN WE ARE BEAT, WE WILL NEVER GIVE UP!!

WE ARE FLETCHING!!

They don't "owe us one" for last time, we owe them for not beating them by more, we owe them for the lack of respect shown last time out!

2 days to go fellow Archers and it cant come quick enough!!

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

Oh dear fella's!!!

Looks like you underestimated the might and fight of FVFC. Credit where it is due though you gave us a good game but to be honest we didnt really get out of the starting blocks all game.

Get us both on a decent sized pitch (come down to FVFC turf!) then you will see what we are really about.

All this talk you must all feel a bit stupid now for letting you b*llocks get to big before you even put the shirt on!!

Up the FVFC!!

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

Jonesy,

Did you play? Were you there?

Be fair mate, it was a cracking game and we felt we had a chance! Which over the game we did. We are a small club in comparison to FVFC but showed a hell of a lot of grit and determination on Saturday. you boys are good and we wish you all the best.

But I think it is a bit harsh to come on here and have a go. We gave you a better game than most teams in your league have this season. Also for us as a club it was the biggest game game in our history, so no, we don't feel stupid, we are proud to have got that far and beat the teams we did to be able to give you lot a run for your money.

If you read the post from myself on the other topic posted today, you will see what our club is all about!

You got your victory/revenge and your final place. Something we stopped you doing in the Mowatt Cup.

There is something called "Being Graceful" when victorious. You individually do not show signs of this.

I am sure the FVFC club representatives who stayed for a few drinks in bar would be most disappointed in this blatent display of bragging and lack of respect shown to our Football Club.

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

Monkey,

I did play. Played in both games this season and played left back. So the revenge factor was there from the start!

No disrespect mind you! From yourself you were only trying to get the best out of your players. But there were some that did get a bit to big for there boots. OK everyone has a right to air an opinion but we as FVFC tend to leave the talking till the saturday and shows team what we are about no what we think we are about!

You are only getting a taste of your own medicine.

Lets hope in future seasons to come we can play eachother again.

Best of luck to you boys for the season!!

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

Jonesy fella,

We did let our feet do the talking, and I hope you are the first to admit that when we got the equaliser that for the proceeding 20 minutes up until our keeper error, there was only 1 team in it.

Once again, massive respect to your club, you are a good team, and please feel free to leave a post on here with details of when your final is. I will be the first down there to support you.

And yes I do hope our paths cross again as technically the score is 1-1.

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

Jonesy, i think monkey summed it up really well to be graceful in victory is a sign of true sportmanship, your club and players are testerment to that the way they behaved after the game was true admirable and was commented on by our committee and we wish you all the best for the final, What is said on here to try and raise the players for the game is all water of a ducks back, but when all is said and done what matters is we have a good game of football the players shake hands and have a beer in the bar afterwards,
To try and say that we let our b*llocks get to big is a bit far from the truth ! Yes we wanted to win and get to the final and we had beaten teams in higher divisions in the cup this year (yourselves included) so yes the game all about us performing to the best of our ability but on the day the better team won ! its easy to come on and slag teams off but its harder to put praise where praise is due

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

Wolvey,

Firstly dont get me wrong it was not a way to slag any of you off. I will be honest you gave us one of our hardest games of the season but this is only from a personal point of view. Fletching FC have obviously done well since you started up and i think it is good to have the banter between clubs. i am not one to come on and slag you all off as yes it is dis-respectful.

Lastly your support would be much appreciated in the final! you are a decent bunch of lads who i think can go places in season to come.

Cheers for the game and for the refreshments afterwards. Nice to see there are still some clubs that do that!

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

ok now the cheap talk is over and were back on friendly terms.
jonesy how about you get your secertary to speak to ours and sort out a friendly at your place as you have 6 games left and we have 5 so its a short season
and like monnkey said its 1-1 and no one likes a draw?
Duffy

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

Let me throw my two-pence in here:

Jonesy was obviously the guy marking me as I was right wing during the match, and despite my little fracas with him in the first few minutes, I bear him no grudge- he did a good job of marking me and kept me quiet throughout the match (although given the ball more, I'd have liked to test him some more)...

As for the pre-match talk, well it was a bit over the top as I mentioned to Funnell on the way to the ground on Saturday. Someone was bound to end up looking a bit sheepish. That's why my attitude will always be "100% effort and enjoyment" and no more.

I say forget all this banter crap, and let our feet do the talking.

Re: Franklands Village Part 2

Oi!!

You 2 need shooting, we get a little upset because FVFC come on here and have a little jibe.

That gets cleared up and you 2 bluetits start on each other!

Shut up!

It was the best you have both played for a while, and accumulatively you both had a massive impact on the performance of the team last Saturday in what was, for me one of the bravest, toughest, passionate games of Football I have played in at any level! Result still stands, as do those results for the rest of the season!

Don't look back as we still lost the match and there are still 5 to go! Lets fininsh on a high!!
