While I understand Halla I also understand Robby. However, the media in the United States is not quite so open. It may be for oyu, but not for Arab and Muslim Americans. We might as well only have one newspaper in America, because the Arab voices and the Muslim voices are excluded routinely and almost completely from the American media. What you see is some tokenism but it's not even consistent.
The media in this country is bigoted, biased and often hateful. I would rather live in a country that doresn't pretend to be Democratic and censors the media, like Egypt (which by the way has many more newspapers than al-Ahram and which even publishes my columns criticizing the Egyptian government) than to live in a country that pretends to be Democratic but is not. I want to change this country called the United States where I was born and served in the military and make it the idealistic country it claims to be with much enthusiasm (driven by racism) but little genuine sincerity.
Thanks for being so polite in writing. Many Israelis who post here fill their comments with vicious racism, making them no different than the vicious haters who hate them. Maybe we can stop ALL of the extremists one-day through free speech, tolerance and diversity in thought.
