Oramorph udv
We have just been told that oramorph UDVs are no longer going to be manufactured because they should be about 10 times the present cost. This will mean that we will either have to go back to keeping a sticky bottle in cupboards/trollies or find an alternative analgesia. Have any of you heard anything about this? |

I had heard this rumour from one of our pharmacists. But do not know when this is suppossed to happen.But it is going to be a great shame especially when patients are discharged with oramorph.Looks like it may be back to the sticky bottle.

I'd not heard this, and have asked our Trust Pharmacist today - who again had not heard, but is going to try and find out. It would be a great shame! |

Pain Talk contacted the UK manufacturers of the UDV’s last week, and we are still awaiting their reply. By chance I ran into one of their Reps. today, he’s from their respiratory division, and confirmed that they are stopping the production of UDV’s for respiratory drugs (and out-sourcing their manufacture) He is going to chase up a definitive answer regarding the oramorph for me. |

Well we got our reply from the manufacturer, yes they are going to be discontinued. See the seperate post on this forum for a copy of their email. |
