Pancreatitis & Alcohol

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help! We've had an increased amount of admissions for alcohol induced pancreatitis and often have a battle with the wards regarding their treatment plan & pain control. We'd like to introduce some kind of algorithm or flow chart that the wards and Drs can follow, perhaps even include blood tests/scans etc that often get missed or done too late. Does any use or know of a basic algorithm for managing this particular group of pts? Generally for Pancreatitis we use Morphine PCA's, but I feel the alcohol induced cases need that little bit more support in both pain control and alcohol withdrawal. Any advice, info would be gratefully received!!!!
