Analgesic regimes following bowel resection

I am currently looking at alternatives to the regime that we currently use for patients following bowel resection and would be interested to know what regimes are used elsewhere.

We currently use either continuous epidural infusion with conjunctives such as IV paracetamol and Nsaids (if appropriate) or PCA morphine again with IV Paracetamol and Nsaids (if appropriate).

I have recently read some research which looks at the use of continuous wound catheters, does anybody use this technique if so how effective do you find it?
