Paracetamol Allergy

Have come across another patient today with a paracetamol allergy (her diagnosis, not ours)

But like so many of the paracetamol allergic individuals I meet she is fine with co-codamol !!!!

So it got me wondering, does anyone know of a ball park figure for people that really are allergic to it?

Re: Paracetamol Allergy

Met 2 patients last week who both reported paracetamol allergy. One said that paracetamol on its own gave her diarrhoea but that she was fine with cocodamol because the codeine kept it in check!

Re: Paracetamol Allergy

I don't know th figure I'm afraid - but I've only met one truely allergic patient in 25 years+ in the job.

(I too have met the 'allergic' to para, but OK with co-codamol type on many occasions!)
