Re: Canadian Writers

Hi, I am a published author with two books on the shelves.

Whale Song is an emotional mystery that is now being considered by a leading film producer.

Divine Intervention is my newest release. It has been compared to JD Robb's "In Death" series. It is the first in my new Canadian mystery series, starring Jasi McLellan, a psychic government agent.

I have been a writer all my life, and am finally on the right track. I am still looking for an agent and a large publishing house, and I have many projects on the go right now, including three novels and an anthology for teen girls.

Please check out my site.

If anyone has any leads for agents or publishers in Canada, please let me know. Thanks!!

Re: Canadian Writers

I have written a few editorials for my local paper, and have had good responses from them.

I am currently working on a political thriller, and have the first few chapters of a YA book. Interest seems to be high with my satirical Canadiana essays, and I'm considering compiling them into a humorous collection as a spoof for tourists. I find I cannot keep humour out of my writing, the trick is to be able to incorporate it into my thriller, and make it seem natural to be there!

I am also looking for an agent and publisher. I am also eager for freelancing work for human interest articles, satire and humour.

Re: Canadian Writers

I am a writer/poet/freelancer. I have been published online and in print. I have also published a poetry book. I write articles, reviews, poetry, stories, press releases etc. While this is my passion, finding paying work has been hard and ongoing. I am happy for my successes thus far though. I am sometimes emailed for how to start in freelance writing.

The first thing I would tell you is to have a bio and a website. A website is your way of showing who you are and what you do. Make sure you have samples and a resume as well. In the end you have to believe in yourself and keep writing everyday.
Sincerely,
Lee Westman

Re: Canadian Writers

The most difficult part of book selling is distribution. We developed www.canadabooksonline.com to meet the needs of independent authors. Check it out.
