Michael Publicly Stated that he was Abandoning Terri in his book

It was actually Jodi who encouraged Michael Schiavo to abandon Terri.

Pg. 288

"For the first time in our long relationship, she asked me to walk away from Terri."

"I called George to tell him it was time to give up and we had a long talk."

Michael had been encouraged to abandon Terri and Michael decided to do so by calling up Felos.

Felos talked him back into staying by Terri while she died of dehydration and starvation.

Make no mistake, Michael has publically written that he intended to abaondon Terri and run off with Jodi and their kids.

Why is this so. It becomes clear when read the following:

Pg. 290

"Just in case the zealots read this and think, We almost had him. We almost beat him. We almost saved Terri. Wrong. The order to remove Terri's feeding tube was not from Mike Schiavo. It was from the Pinellas County Circuit Court."

According the Michael and Felos, any guardian appointed would have been compelled to follow the order to starve and dehydrate Terri to death.

I hope Michael is confused here about walking away.

Michael has written his public declaration that he had decided at one point to abandon Terri Schiavo, run to be with Jodi and his kids, and to allow Terri to be starved and dehydrated death.

Very sweet of Michael to consider this.

Re: Michael Publicly Stated that he was Abandoning Terri in his book

Michael also viewed Terri as his personal property to do with as he pleased:

According to Brandi Swindell who approached Michael at a bioethic conference in Pennsylvania:

"Brandi Swindell of Generation Life went into the conference to ask a question of Michael Schiavo but was not recognized during the question time. Brandi approached Michael after the conference to ask him about statements he has made about Terri being his property. Michael told Brandi that “Terry is his property,” he said “I own her.” Brandi then asked him as he was standing next to his new wife, if he owned her also?"

Laura Shepherd another pro-life actvist also approached Michael Schiavo:

I attended the Michael Schiavo/Angie Paccione press conference and listened as Schiavo ranted about how his privacy was violated by our government ("Schiavo blasts Musgrave/Activist supports congresswoman's Democratic rival," July 13). He said he was Terri's family and the government had interfered with his family, his privacy and his wishes. When he finished his tirade, with congressional candidate Paccione by his side, I raised my hand and said, "I'm the mother of a handicapped child. What about Terri's mother and father - weren't they her family too?"

Schiavo turned his full attention on me and with angry passion told me Terri's parents had lost their rights to her when she married him. (In other words, she was his property to be disposed of.)

Wow! You sure did distort that story. Do you feel good about it? Try it again but tell the story verbatim.

Re: Re: Re: Michael Publicly Stated that he was Abandoning Terri in his book

Why? That's what Michael said in his book. The Jodi came to him and told him to give and walk away. Michael said he made that decision and then Felos told not to walk away.

I will credit Felos. Its about only good thing he did; Making sure Michael didn't abandon Terri.

Michael and Felos did said that if Michael had walked away, whoever was appointed guardian would have been commanded by the court to follow the court order to starve and dehydrate Terri to death.

If this is true, then yes, Michael was attempting to abandon Terri.

But, I think he abandoned Terri away by shacking up with Jodi.
