Caving in to pressure from an emotional crowd in Fishtown on Monday night, state rep. Michael O'Brien (D-175th dist) said he would grant the SugarHouse casino riverfront land rights, even without a signed benefits agreement between the casino and the Northern Liberties Neighbors Association.
"If you come to me with a community benefits agreement signed by the Fishtown Neighbors Association and Fishtown Action, I'll introduce the legislation," O'Brien told Fishtown residents of his willingness to support the lands rights.
