It has come to our notice that someone using the e-mail addresses of davesummers@yahoo.com and donberry@yahoo.com has been sending the following e-mails to all the entertainers on allthingsmusic:-

My name is Dave summers ,i reside in Derbyshire
and am writting to make enquiry on how much it will
cost me if you are to entertain my guests on my wedding
which will take place on the 24th of september, 2005 at

Market Place, Crich,
Derbyshire, DE4 5DD, U.K.

And the reception will be at:

Kings Banqueting Hall
Chesterfield Rd
ALFRETON
Derbyshire
DE55 7DT

..am expecting to see about 90 people, and i will want your
band to come and entertain my guest at the reception.I want you toget
back to me with your prices and packages, I
will be needing you for 3 hours and it will begin from 2pm to 4pm.

I have also been approached with the same scam, he used the name Bruce White and had different church/reception address but otherwise the same. He sent me a fake Abbey National cheque for £4000 which is now with Abbey's fraud department.

I have also had the same communication but using the name Bruce White email address bruhity@yahoo.co.uk. Wedding purportedly at Disley Baptist Church, Disley and reception at Ye Olde Vicarage, Cranage on 1 October. On checking with venue there appears to be at least three bands involved. I have also heard from a band based in Scotland who were "engaged" for this wedding.
I have also received a forged Abbey cheque and the matter is being looked into by the West Mercia police.
