SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT!

Unforgiveness

“For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your heavenly father will not forgive your sins.”

(Matthew 6:14,15)

Sadly, many well meaning and well mannered christians suffer from this not so uncommon sin of unforgiveness.

Sometimes the matter in question may be so trivial, but the sin of unforgiveness silently gnaws into the core of the unforgiving believer’s spiritual life.

Deadly are the consequences ,for often guilt may start bringing a divide in that person’s spiritual walk with the lord.

A simple misunderstanding may often be the prime cause of suspicion which can lead to pure hatred and an unforgiving attitude, which could have been easily avoided with a positive approach of clarification.

But that is where the enemy stops the well mannered believer-the step of clarification.

Perhaps many a sin of unforgiveness could have been avoided then.

If only the well mannered believer paused and said to himself/herself—let me get this clarified with my brother/sister/friend...

THE GREAT ADVENTURE

I wasn't married till my mid years - another way of saying I wasn't young!

Any bride wonders what she should wear so would I wear white? Yes, why not? A veil? No, a bit much.

My matron of honour, a long time friend took me to a bridal shop. I hired a dress. A lovely dress, a little train. Oh, yes, a small tiara, all sparkles, just right.

My 90 year old mother made the cake, the minister's wife iced it. The lady who ran the laundry where I worked did the beautiful bouquets.

Brother was organised to give me away, nephew was the chauffeur. Finally we were at the church at 10 am. one Saturday morning in May.

The organ pealed forth the old fashioned traditional, "Here comes The Bride..." and brother and I advanced up the aisle.

And there at the front of the church was my beloved, tall, straight in his new grey suit. He turned and looked at me and the great adventure began.

One day there will be a grand wedding in heaven. Our beloved Saviour, Jesus Christ will stand and turn and look at us.

What will He see?

Will we cower and cover our confusion, not ready for the Great Adventure to begin? Will we advance to meet him? Pause, and wonder if there is a stain on our dress which has not been washed away by His precious blood?

We are acceptable because He came to meet us, walked earth and died for us.

Now He is there in Heaven waiting to welcome us so that the Great Adventure may begin.

Consider where you are and what you want. Where do you see yourself in this celebration?
