What's your PIN ?

PIN NUMBERS

Have you ever forgotten your PIN Number or maybe keyed in the numbers in the wrong order?

If you have, you no doubt well remember your embarrassment as the shop assistant looked at you oddly and after the third try told you firmly that you could not use your card for the transaction. Then later you looked up the number in the secret place you keep it and tried memorising it even harder.

The annoying thing was that it was your money in the account at the bank but you cannot get it unless you got that number right. Your name is not good enough any more. You are a number and you have to remember it or you can find yourself quite broke.

Although Governments and business have reduced us all to a series of numbers which we must quote before we receive goods or services, our God, our Father in heaven knows each of us by our names - our Christian names in fact. Surnames like numbers are only for human convenience.

And He calls us by our names to tell us of His great love for us, and although our sin has separated us from Him, He still wants to have us back to Himself. God is so serious about this that he allowed Jesus, God the Son, to come to this earth in human form and pay the penalty for the sin of the world by his death on the Cross at Calvary, "that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3 : 16)

When we do believe in Him , Jesus said, " If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come and make our home with him." (John 14 : 23) People living together in a close loving relationship are always on a first name basis. Hence God knowing you by your first name.

The purpose of God living with us is so that He can continue to show us His love and cover us with His grace to restore us sinners so we can live with Him for ever. These wonderful gifts are the greatest technology the world has ever known; they have been there from the beginning and you do not need a PIN number to access them.

If you have found this simple article a blessing and would like to share it with a friend - maybe a non-Christian friend, forward it on but do ask that they subscribe in their own right at http://justaminute.faithweb.com/subs_come_go.html.

Re: What's your PIN ?

Jesus knows our name but it is time for us to take on the name of God. For the name of God is His nature and the essence of us believing in Him is to take on the nature which is His name.
