We saw _Million Dollar Baby_ on Sunday. We liked it, but some of the plot holes bugged me:
- Trying not to give anything away here: One of the fight decisions was just way dopey.
- A couple of the injuries and care facility scenes required a lot of suspended belief, I think.
Clint got his shots in against welfare scammers in a way that any Conservative would love (slash and burn--the whole system should just be gone).
I can see why some groups are upset with the movie, but I agree with Ebert who said that the characters acted and reacted as the story portrayed them--they and their actions were authentic to their characters.
Hillary Swank was very good. Clint and Morgan's acting and relationship in the movie a little cliched, but over all, we liked it.
I haven't seen it yet, so I can't help with the plot holes. I can, however, amuse you by confessing that I mentally plugged in Clint Howard rather than Eastwood where you mentioned "Clint." It wasn't until I re-read your post a couple of times that I made the right connection.
Hey, it's sorta late and I just got home from a 2-week trip to Dallas. Can I be forgiven?
