Foxy

Our little girl FOXY came in "with a bad leg" which is, in fact, a very badly broken hock. Neither the vet or the specialist wish to operate on her and would prefer her to have total rest for three months. She is in a confined area in the kennels where she cannot over walk and she is being regularly vet monitored. She is the most friendly wee girl ever and we hope the bone will naturally fuse and calcify.

Re: Foxy

Oh what a shame. Bless her.
But as Joan said, she is in the best place possible and is a lucky girl to be loved and cared for by you all while hopefully she heals.

£40 Donation towards Foxy's vet fees!!!

We have been at Baltree several times over the last few weeks and have seen Foxy each time.

On each occasion we were hoping that Foxy was on the mend sadly after various visits to vets and now many X Rays it is apparent that this is going to be a long haul for Foxy and Greyhound Rescue Fife for her to recover from the BROKEN HOCK.

She is a beautiful we girl with so much patience and a great temperament, which will definitely benefit her while she is in her confined area for total rest to aid the healing process.

With the ongoing vet bills for Foxy and indeed all the hounds we have donated £40 to help with these costs that Greyhound Rescue Fife have incurred helping to give Foxy a life.

We did offer to foster Foxy but that is not an option because of her condition, so at least we are helping a little and we will continue to help as much as we can.

Re: Foxy

Hi Foxy,
When you are feeling better and John the vet say it's ok to swim. Come to Doggie Paddles and have some free swims, because you are so pretty.

love Pauline Darryl

Re: Foxy

Hi Pauline & Darryl,
that's a really kind offer for Foxy.
To see another greyhound swimming look at August 2011 in the calendar where you'll see Marion Roberts' Bryn enjoying the water at Doggie Paddles.

Re: Foxy

Hi George and Morag,
We thank you very much indeed for the very kind £40 donation to help dear wee Foxy.
We hope that the dear wee soul doesn't go melancholy stuck in her tiny room for three months.
Thank you so much.
Celia, Jimmy and Foxy.

Re: Foxy

I do so hope that the rest and confinement work for Foxy. If she has to have an op John Ferguson is the god of orthopedics so she will be in great hands.
Either way, there will be a lot of muscle wastage and, if JF recommends it, hydrotherapy could help to build up muscle, without putting weight on the leg. As I told Jimmy at the St Andrews walk, my vets in Sussex had fantastic results with a lurcher who had an inoperable hock injury and was treated with complete rest then hydrotherapy. If JF advises that route of treatment, Foxy will be most welcome to stay with me for the duration, as I live next door to Pauline & Darryl's hydrotherapy unit and would promise to take great care of her.
Everything crossed for a full recovery.
Marion
