Would just like to warn folks about the above. My next door neighbour's dog had his paw very badly cut involving a lot of damage to tendons and nicking an artery further up his front leg. The culprit was, in this case, old metal basins that had rusted and been dumped along with a lot of other household rubbish in woods near my home. The dog was off the lead and nosing about. We think his foot went through a basin and he pulled it back out. I know most of the hounds are on leads, but if on a long lead guess it is still possible. The dog is fine and back home after having the wound stitched, but it was touch and go due to blood loss.
