Red Dry Skin

Help. Our recently rescued Greyhound Phil has no fur in the area under his front legs. The skin is dry, red and appears to be itchy. Has anybody come across this and if so do you know what causes it and if there is a cure. We have tried Savlon but he seems to be allergic to it and olive oil to no effect. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: Red Dry Skin

Hi John,
You can try propolis (bee glue) cream...http://www.homeoforce.co.uk/bumbles-10-propolis-ointment-6769-p.asp

Some people, animals might be allergic to bee products however.
Tested on myself. My skin was healed within 2 weeks.

Re: Red Dry Skin

The vet can provide a special shampoo which is very good but expensive. Can't think what its called though

I read somewhere that savlon isn't good for dogs - I believe there is an ingredient in it that dogs react to.

I used sudocrem on my bridge boy Sam - he used to get rashes on his thighs. Seemed to clear it up.

Good luck

Re: Red Dry Skin
