Hi Michele, Nic, Billy and Toby.
So sorry to hear about Goldie. We remember the day you took her into your home.
You gave her the perfect doggy life and though she couldn't speak she thanked you for it every day.
Run free over the bridge little Goldie. Go and join the other angels.
Auntie Celia and Uncle Jimmy.
So sorry guys,
On the day I'm due to pick up Jock, I feel for you all. I'm a great believer in quality of life over quantity, and you gave Goldie pure gold years. Be proud of that and remember all the many good times.
Marion
Thanks everyone for your kind words.
Everything happened in the space of less than 2 weeks. Goldie started limping and an xray didn't show anything but the vet wanted to repeat it in a fortnights time. She was such a "tough old bird" it was not like her to show pain. The tramadol had no effect yesterday and she was very unsettled so we took her back to the vets and the xray this time showed a tumour on her front leg up in her shoulder. Osteosarcoma is such a horrible aggressive cancer and we felt it could be this but it was still a shock at how rapidly things progressed. She was still sedated from the xray so we asked the vet to let her go.
Today we adopted Tara (the saluki X greyhound)and it has helped ease the pain.
