For those of you that were at the GRF fete today, you will all know what a great day it was! There was plenty of cakes (Thanks Kerri!) and lots of stands to browse, a great raffle, a doggie fashion contest, a homeless hound parade, and a walk round the nearby park.
Here are a couple of pictures of the day, including brilliant Greyhound cakes!
I'm sure everyone will join me in thanking Kerri for all the hard work she put into the day, it was really worth it and was a fantastic day for all. Now to begin preparations for next year! :-)
Also, a huge thanks from everyone at GRF (and a "Woof" form the hounds!) to all the volunteers who helped out today by manning stalls and helping with the homeless hounds in the parade.
There are a few unclaimed raffle prizes which have been brought up to the kennel, if you believe you own one of these please drop by the rescue and pick up your goods!
( we do have a note of the winning numbers and names so there is no cheating!)
I would like to thank kerri for organising my day out... had a good time today, met some strange people ;-)
allowed a bit of close quarter appreciation
some kind person left out a convenient watering hole just for me...
phew ... all this socialising is exhausting!
right.... out the way.... if I could only speed up this human holding me back!
I'm sure I can smell .... burgerssssss..........if I lie in wait here someone may drop me a bit!! I had a cunning plan to situate my hooman next to the BBQ
Hmmmmm........... wonder when my next day out will be zzzzzzzzzzzz
I had an amazing day, so a HUGE thank you to all the volunteers who helped to make the day possible. And thank you to everyone who came and showed their support.
I love seeing all the hounds, the weather held out and I got to eat lots of yummy cakes and BBQ veggie burgers. So it all went perfectly!
I'm defo up for making this an annual event, and who knows maybe something nearer Christmas too?
Hi Folks.
What a great day Kerri - you're a star.
Couldn't find anyone who didn't enjoy themselves.
Great too, seeing lots of faces from the past. A wonderful day.
To top it all Kerri we counted £559 at the kennels and Bert has added £232.85 for merchandise and £85.75 from the collecting box.
So, to date, approximately £877.
Thanks to everyone who made this possible on the day and of course special thanks to Kerri and Alan for the tremendous amount of work that they put in organising such a successful fete.
Celia, Jimmy and all the grateful greyhounds.
Loved Steve's post - what a great ambassador for the summer fete. I bet you'll find a forever home soon.
Delighted that the day was such a success, and that the weather stayed fine. The photos were lovely (those greyhound cakes!). And the money raised for GRF was fantastic. We'll hopefully make the next one Kerri - many congratulations.
