toddlers and greyhounds?

Hi

We would love to rescue a greyhound - but we have, although very gentle, a 19m toddler girl. She is fantastic with dogs, but we are confused by conflicting advice re: greyhounds and children. We will be having another baby in the next couple of years. We are experienced dog owners, very happy to train etc - but used to insane border collies and would like a quieter life!

Thanks

Laura

Re: toddlers and greyhounds?

Hi Laura.
Thank you for your kind enquiry and we're sure that you'd have a loving home for one of our doggies, but we would be worried for the safety of your little daughter.
Greyhounds don't understand infants and though the chances of one biting your child would be extremely slim, we would never take even the slightest chance with your wee daughter's safety.
Consequently we have a policy of not rehoming to a household where there is a child under 5 years old.
Good luck in your search for a family pet.
