He has not recovered well from a broken ligament earlier this year on one front leg and a recent nasty corn on the other one. It made everything a struggle for him, but his tail still wagged enthusiastically.He's under the care of a very good vet.

Earlier this week we noticed he was suddenly losing weight and going off his food, and had a very fast heartbeat. An appointment was made for the vet on Monday - but when we saw blood in his urine this afternoon, we went straight to the surgery.

Today we heard that he has lost 22 lbs. Blood tests show nothing and his temperature is normal, and nothing found on the ultrasound scan. We decided not to subject him to aggressive exploratory operations, accepted the antibiotic and pain relief and have brought him home to be nursed in peace and quiet. We will do our best to keep him comfortable and pain free, but this next 48 hrs look critical.

Please spare a wee thought for our gorgeous big black boy.

Beautiful boy. We remember the day we took you to Edinburgh to meet your lovely Mummy and Daddy. Come on big boy, we want you well and happy, playing with your girl friend again. Get well soon big boy.
