Emma update

Hello Everyone,

I thought I would give you an update on Emma.

Since Arthur passed away, she has been doing fairly well. She did experience some separation anxiety after a few months and we decided that perhaps she needed another companion. As we live quite close to the Northumberland Greyhound rescue (only 30 mins away) we decided to see if there may be another dog that would suit her temperament. We were lucky to find a lovely male dog who is so much like Arthur and has slotted quietly into our life. His name is Merlin (was known as Fagin but did not answer to that name).

He is quiet, affectionate and 4 years old. So far so good with the usual 'settling in' stage and a few accidents in the house, as expected. They sleep together and seem quite suited to one another. As Emma will be 12 this summer we wanted to make sure a new dog would not cause too much chaos in Emma's life and we feel grateful that Merlin has helped Emma and has become a good companion for her.

Emma is beginning to slow down and is still as lovely as ever and we hope to have her in our lives for as long as is possible. As ever, she continues to enhance our lives with her presence and anyone who ever questions if an older dog is the right choice, when adopting a greyhound, Emma is living proof that they are as valuable and can be as good as a younger dog. It's about the 'right dog' not the one who looks the handsomest/prettiest but the one who was always meant to be part of your family.

With Every Blessing and Love,
Nico, Patrick, Emma and Merlin
