Dog show housekeeping rules

Just a quick update on our dog show and some housekeeping rules for those of you who it maybe their first time and also a reminder for those who are regulars!!

First of all we are on a drive now to advertise our show far and wide either by downloading the poster on site here or sharing it on Facebook and in turn suggesting your friends share as well !! Social media pays a big part of everyday live now that for the first time at the show we are hoping to have regular updates of the event (Twitter/Facebook) using the following #GRFDOGSHOW (who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks !!!).

While this will add another dimension to our show it certainly doesn’t beat actually being there on the day!! Tickets can still be purchased from our Baltree kennels price £4 for aduts with kids under 16 going free, Or at the door on the day.

Housekeeping:

The venue itself is a working farm and we have use of the indoor horse riding arena, so no matter what the Scottish weather’s like we should stay dry at least!! Because the arena is sandy I would suggest leaving the “heels” at home that day

Because it is a working farm, please ensure that you keep your dogs on a lead at all times. Although we have use of the adjacent field and woods to walk your dogs they must be kept on their leads.

Also keep the site clean, we will have sufficient bags around the venue to put your waste into and also any “dog poo” ensure it is picked up and placed in these bags.

The show itself will have a registration period for each class and you will be given a number, make sure this number is visible during the walk round so the judge can identify you :0)

On occasions depending on demand for a class we may have to do this in 2 or 3 lots. In this instance we will pick 5 from each group and proceed to a “final” for these dogs.

All you have to do in each class is to 1) register/pay your £1 per dog, 2) walk round the ring with your dog and 3) line up in a row when the judge is ready to make her decision, simples !

And lastly the most important rule HAVE FUN !!!! the show is all about meeting like minded people and showing of the merits of the greyhound under the auspice of an alleged dog show !!! (No Cruft points awarded here !!). So enjoy it, I know from past experience your dogs will certainly sleep that night !!!!
