As many of you already know, The Rover Reporter has sponsored the Bandanas, for the Winners of each class, at the Dog Show for the past 4 years and this year is no exception, despite our retirement from the Newsletter.
The Bandanas only arrived with me this morning and are suitably glamorous .. Unfortunately, however, there are a couple of errors in the printing. Kathryn, at Milgi Coats, who has always made a wonderful job of our Bandanas has had a rough time recently, losing one of her own beloved greyhounds only a week, or so, ago. Obviously, it is too late to get the errors fixed (they are not major), so we will run with them ... in view of the errors, however, Kathryn has very generously donated the Bandanas to the Show.
I hope that the Bandanas will continue to be a feature of the Show in future years and that they could, perhaps, be offered as one of the Sponsorship Packages, along with the trophies, rosettes, etc. - I normally pay around £85.00 for these, so it would be a good one to offer (Alex?). I think the addition of the Bandanas is nice, particularly for the dogs ... it also means that the winners, of each class, are obvious to everyone at the Show!
We hope that the 9th Annual GRF Dog Show will be a hugely successful one for all at GRF, and that as much money as possible is made, on the day, for the homeless hounds at Baltree who are, at the end of the day, the reason we all do this.
We are sorry that we won't see our many friends (two and four legged!) this year.
I was on the home baking stall with Christine so didn't see any presentations but I did see many proud dogs looking fabulous with their bandanas. They looked fantastic and as you said, you can see at a glance who was placed
