Hi Celia & Jimmy, just wanted to give you a wee update on Bhan, the steroids have helped a little as he is eating better but doesn't seem to be putting on any weight and is a bit shaky. We are taking him and Missy away for a few days at the weekend, the vet says he doesn't seem to be in pain but the tumours in his neck are getting bigger and its up to us when we want to let him go to rainbow bridge but David scared he does it too early but doesn't want him sufering either. It's so hard!!!
This may be the best and most memorable wee holiday you ever have so please try to enjoy it and live for the moment. It can only do you all good.
Best wishes.
Believe it or not, you will know when the time is right to let Bhan go. I constantly worried about not wanting to let John go too early but neither did I want to make the decision too late but you are the best people who know your dog and you will know when the time is right.
Continue to love him and make the most of each day, dogs live in the moment so make more of those special memories.
Hi David and Lynn.
Thank you for the update.
We're so sorry that things are pointing in that direction.
We've lived through that situation 14 times now and it never gets any easier, but strangely one day you'll look at Bhan and he'll look at you. Since you love him you'll know that it is time to make the awful but correct decision.
Love and enjoy Bhan very much. Today is not the day so make the very most of the dear big boy.
So sorry.
Jimmy and Celia.
Thanks everyone for the kind words and advising that we will know when the time is right, we have so many great memories, when we got Bhan he wasn't very playful but after watching Missy for a couple of weeks he wasn't long joining in and it was so funny as he jumped and galloped around like a puppy and his big long legs went everywhere I think we should have chnged his name to Goofy!! We will enjoy our weekend with him and the rest of the time we have with him, will keep posting an update on how he's doing xx
