Tribute to Bessie

It was with a very heavy heart that I had to say goodbye to my beloved greyhound Bessie, yesterday 24/01/17. She was 14 and a half. She came bounding into my life 9 years, 3 months & 20 days ago, thanks to Celia & Jimmy at Greyhound Rescue Fife. She was the best friend I have ever had and everyone who knew her loved her. Bessie you will be so sadly missed and this house will never be the same without you, you are now reunited with your Greyhound buddy Spoonie. Run free over Rainbow Bridge. Love you xxx

Bessie

You can see Bessie on Page 18 of The Lucky Ones. She was the 100th greyhound to be homed by GRF.

Re: Tribute to Bessie

We are so so sorry to hear of your loss. We know exactly how you feel, having lost our handsome boy Oxo on 25th November, 2016. I also thought the house would never be the same again, however we recently rehomed Sammy and although the house is not the same without Oxo (and it will never be the same without your Bessie) our house is now different(but in a good way). Sammy has brought a different personality into our home. He has settled in well and is bringing us so much joy and although we often think and speak about Oxo, we remember him with love in our hearts. You will never forget the time and years spent with Bessie but rest assured she will always be with you in spirit and in your heart.

Thinking of you at this sad time.

Gwen, Mike, Abbi & Sammy xxxx

Re: Tribute to Bessie

Hi Neil.
We're so sorry to hear about Bessie.
We remember very well the day she met Mr. Spoons. Yes, she marked our very first 100 dogs rehomed all those years ago. Thank you so very much for giving her a long and very happy life in your home.
Run free over the Bridge with Mr. Spoons Bessie.
Uncle Jimmy and Auntie Celia.

Re: Tribute to Bessie

How lovely she looked in old age, and what a fine old age she reached in your care. Bryn (Brin) was on the same lucky ones page as Bessie but he came back and I didn't rehome him until a year later. Sadly I lost him to peritonitis in June 2016. Each one changes our lives in a unique way and makes us a little wiser. We wish you well.

Re: Tribute to Bessie

Hi Neil,

So sorry to hear of your loss. What a beatiful girl. I understand how you feel, I lost my Ruby in July last year and my heart is broken, I miss her so much. She will always be in your heart and has gone to Rainbow Bridge so thankful for the wonderful life you gave her.
I have a lovely girl named Bess now and she has helped me so much, she will never replace Ruby, she has her own personality, and is a joy to have around. She has inherited all Ruby's creature comforts.
I have tears in my eyes when I think of what you are going through. It's not easy.
