We had to put our much loved Lurcher to sleep on 15th January due to cancer of the Spleen. We were heartbroken but it was the right decision.
We have just picked up her ashes from the vet and the bill shows that we were charged £135 just to put her to sleep...is this the expected cost that most vets charge ??
Hi Lynne,
Sorry to hear about the loss of Biscuit it is never easy when we have to let them go.
Biscuit is at peace now and pain free playing with all the other hounds that were waiting for Biscuit at the Rainbow Bridge. R.I.P. Biscuit gone but never forgotten.
When we lost our Lassie in November the vets dealt with everything for us.
We had her creamated and got her ashes back in a wooden casket.
They charged £195 total
£70 to euthanise including a sedative first on our request as Lassie was very poorly. The remainder was the price of the creamation and the lovely wooden casket.
We were very happy with the cost and the service offered by our vets.
As a whole our vets are reasonable with their charges.
