Re: E-mails from Jimmy

I got one too, which the computer blocked as unsafe.

Re: E-mails from Jimmy

Alistair Barr
I have also received an email this afternoon which raised my suspicions as the link redirected me to a deceptive site which my computer blocked, I immediately replied to it and contacted Celia to see if they had received my email and to check and make sure their account hadn`t been hacked. Jimmy was going to check things out. However it is definately not Jimmy or Celia the emails are being sent from , so please be very aware !!!
Hmmm ... despite having security on my computer, it allowed the attachment to open - probably compromised my security :-(

I e-mailed Jimmy before opening the attachment and got a reply, from Jimmy’s e-mail address, assuring me it was genuine!

Clever spammer .... grrrrr.

Re: E-mails from Jimmy are SCAMS

Yes, I have received one tonight and did not reply to it, as Richard told me it would be a scam and not to click on the link. I did not think it was real, but emailed Jimmy just in case, but then went on here to tell everyone about it, when I saw that more people were getting them. I will contact Jimmy again to tell him that it is a scam. If it had been very urgent, as the email said it was,I think Jimmy would have phoned us all and not sent an email. If anyone else gets one, please do not open the link Open drive,

Re: E-mails from Jimmy are SCAMS

Hi Folks.
I have definitely been hacked. I don't know if it is a real hack or a spoof spam but I certainly did not send it.
Please treat it as dangerous rubbish and bin it.
If anybody has been seriously inconvenienced I humbly apologise. For the last two hours I have been unsuccessfully trying to trace the source.
Jimmy. :rage:

Re: E-mails from Jimmy are SCAMS

Jimmy, apparently this scam has been going around. Eion (with his IT hat on) says you should change the password for your email account. You may have done this already.

Re: E-mails from Jimmy are SCAMS

Yes I have changed it Sheila, but thanks for the advice Eion
