This Sundays walk - Lochore Meadows, Lochgelly

The second of the 2018 GRF walks will take place at Lochore Meadows, Lochgelly at 12:00 on Sunday 14th April.

Greyhound Rescue Fife hold monthly walks on the second Sunday of the month starting at 12:00. These walks are an excellent opportunity for dogs and their owners to socialise, and to raise awareness for the rescue.

All dogs must remain on fixed leads at all times, and the two leggers need to pick any thing their four leggers drop on the way. Please watch out for other dogs that may well be off their leads on the walk, and please watch out for traffic moving about the car park.

Please try to remember that not all of the dogs or their two leggers are as quick on their feet as they once were, so please do not go charging off into the distance, and please allow for regrouping at strategic places so that we can all enjoy the walk together.

This is one of the longer walks of the year - nearly 5 miles for the whole circuit. The walk is an anti-clockwise loop around the loch, so please bear this in mind and turn back at an appropriate time and distance if you or your dog are not fit enough to complete the full walk.

We will also have tickets available for the GRF Dog Show at £5 each. These will be on sale from Julie and Kell in the World Famous Dogswagen. This year we'll be running a special raffle for those who have bought tickets in advance, so make sure you buy tickets and write your name on the back to enter this.

Re: This Sundays walk - Lochore Meadows, Lochgelly

Hi Steve,
We have not met I don’t think, but I dog walk/volunteer at Celia and Jimmys on Tuesday mornings. I also recently adopted Flora, the light tan and white saluki/greyhound , just 2 weeks ago, who is settling in well. She is an angel, and I want to keep her happy and well socialised so would love to join the walk at Lochore this Sunday. Will you be meeting in the main car park and do you have the post code. I live in Dalgety Bay but am fairly new to the area, having retired and moved up from England.
Kind regards
Angela

Hi Angela,

Here’s a link that should help you find it - https://maps.apple.com/place?address=Lochore%20Meadows%2C%20Lochore%2C%20Lochgelly%2C%20KY5%208BA%2C%20Scotland&auid=14872281892627570958&ll=56.150187275470074%2C-3.3427083492279053&q=Lochore%20Meadows%20Country%20Park

Follow the road into the park as far as it goes and we’ll meet up in the last car park to the right (there is an overflow car park off to the left just before). Look out for a red and white VW Transporter - that’s us in the Dogswagen

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the link with directions. Hopefully will see you there. Looking forward to it and for Flora to meet some new doggy friends.

A brilliant turnout for today's walk, and a good few advance GRF Dog Show tickets sold too. Thanks to all those who made it along today.
