Re: A few more European comics to check into

Oh that’s awesome! I’ve heard of the Spanish Pantera Negra before, but his son is more popular than him, not only due to being a competent Korak Expy, but also because he’s long been considerably better written than his dad would ever be. He grows his hair long and also has a female ally, Gacela, a rather decent blonde expy of Meriem. It helps that Susanna is quite matronly amongst the wives of fellow Tarzanids.

Despite the old Spanish comics’ frequent pitfalls in both writing and characterisation, the titular Pantera Negra and his wife Susanna are still much better parents than both Jane Porter and Tarzan are in the ERB Universe canon. Hoo boy, the ERB Universe Jane Porter isn’t really a good mother, isn’t she?

Re: A few more European comics to check into

There's certainly plenty of material to expand the comics section! And while I'm thinking about it, the later painted covers from the Spanish language Editorial Novaro Tarzan and Korak series are certainly worth checking out, especially once they'd exhausted the American Dell/GK/DC/Marvel stories and began printing mostly European work. And yes, more links! :D

Korak:

Tarzan:

Likewise, once they'd exhausted the Dell/GK Turok stories, they created new ones, with painted cover art:

Unfortunately the GCD "large" scans aren't very, but with a little patience many better cover images (and occasionally some interior art) can be found on the auction site Todocoleccion (which thank Bob has an English language option now): https://en.todocoleccion.net/s/novaro-tarzan

Thank you for sharing these links ... really exceptional cover art for the time. I obtained some physical copies of the Korak and Tarzan Novaro comics a couple of years ago for my collection as I really loved the artwork.
