Re: A Holiday Question for Peter

I can't remember much of the recording sessions for the dB's tracks on Chris' Christmas record. The clarinet was played by Walter Williams, the director of the "Amplifier" video. Gilbert Nestor III played the surly lead lines; he was our soundman, and he was the lead guitarist for Wipe Me, Mommy. Jeff did the falsetto. I was Elvis Navidad. "O Holy Night" was done in an afternoon in Coyote Studio (at that point, it was located in the Del-Lords' practice space in the Music Building across the hall from ours on the sixth floor.) That was the first song I ever released on which I played all the instruments and sang all the harmonies. On "Christmas Time", interestingly, I did not play an instrument, just sang on it. The cover photo was taken on a blisteringly hot day in Hoboken in the house where Chris and I were sometime occupants. We could either run the air-conditioning (very cool) or the photographic lights (hot on a cool day). The fuses kept blowing, too. That explains the, er, glistening effect on some of our faces. Ho ho ho.

Re: Re: A Holiday Question for Peter

Oh, it occurred to me that the Miller Beer ad was the basis for the recording of "Christmas Time". Wasn't the picture from that ad somewhere on this site at one point?

Re: Miller Beer Ad

Thanks Jake. Would anyone care to identify all the lost souls in the picture?
