Re: lyrics

well, until such time as the lyrics are up en masse, if you have some sticky lines, please feel free to ask specifics... I'll do my best to help.

Re: Re: lyrics

Hi, Peter. I have a question about the lyrics to "Dynamite" that I've been waiting forever to ask. Of course, I make up my own words and keep singing at the top of my lungs!

Though "Dynamite" is quite short lyrically, there's at least one line in each of the three verses that I can't make out. I think Gene's bass playing and Will's drumming (which are impeccable in this song, by the way) mask some of the words. Would you be so kind as to shed some light? (or any dB)

Here's what I can decipher, or at last what I sing as I'm driving I-40:

1. Dynamite
Late last night
Jet flame's white (?)
So polite

2. At first sight
Had to try it
(???????)
Dynamite

3. In your eyes
Tight, skin tight (?)
Dressed in stripes
Dressed in stripes (?)

Well, there are actually more holes than I thought. Can you help out, please?

Re: Re: Re: lyrics

While we're on the subject of lyrics, I just wanted to tell Mr. Holsapple that he's responsible for my favorite couplet in Pop:

"I can understand why you'd want a better man
But why you want to make him out of me?"

For the longest time, that was the signature line on all my e-mail.

john.

Re: Re: Re: Re: lyrics

I'm with ya, John. Everytime my wife and I get into it, I think of that line! ;)

Re: Re: Re: lyrics

First verse missing line "jet face white"
Second verse missing line "spoke outright"
Third verse missing line (4) "caress and spite"
Hope this helps.
