New Jeff Beninato album available!

Hey everyone. Jeff Beninato and John Thomas Griffith (of Cowboy Mouth and the Red Rockers) have just put out the (up till now!) unreleased Fate Brothers album that they recorded in 1995-96. It has some great originals, as well as covers of The Rolling Stones' "Dead Flowers" and Gram Parsons' "Dark End of the Street." Check out ttp://fatebrothers.mediafeast.com/ to hear samples and to pick up your copy.

Hey, that oughta be a good collection of songs!

As a huge fan of Gram Parsons, I'm sure Gram would want you to know that "Dark End of the Street" is a soul classic written by Chips Moman and Dan Penn, originally cut in '66 by James Carr. The Burritos version certainly kicks ass, though!

Re: Re: New Jeff Beninato album available!

Great news about the Fate Brothers' record!

The Burritos' version of "Dark End of the Street" is a curiosity, as it sounds to me like they don't do the right chords at the beginning of the verses. If it was in G, ordinarily the chords would be 'at the (G) dark end (D) of the (e minor) street.' But
Gram et al do 'at the (G) dark end (f# minor) of the (e minor) street.' I'm being nit-picky, of course, but that's what you know and love me for, isn't it?
