Junebug by Phil Morrison

Thanks for that prompt. Phil Morrison, director of the aforementioned "Junebug", also directed the "Angels" video from Mavericks. Phil is a graduate of R J Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, albeit years after Chris, Gene, Will and I were there. He did, however, organize the "Who's On First" show with Let's Active, Chris Stamey and The dB's at Reynolds Auditiorium as a Key Club benefit show while he was an RJR student. He's also responsible for a remarkable film called "Tater Tomater" which has developed a regular cult following in the years since its release. We are very proud of our friend's accomplishments!

Re: Junebug by Phil Morrison

Thanks for sharing that connection, Peter. "Junebug" has been well reviewed (there was a lengthy review that I heard on "Fresh Air" on Monday). I'm looking forward to seeing it when it finally makes it here.

Re: "Who's on First" question for Peter H.

Was the "Who's On First" show limited to just the Winston show or was it a sort of mini-tour? If it was a mini-tour, how did it come about and how many shows were involved? Did members of the different bands join each other on stage during the various sets? Thanks!

Re: Re: "Who's on First" question for Peter H.

I'm no Peter, but I can answer the question ... that tour started at Reynolds then continued for a coupla weeks or so (primarily in the South ... I remember Atlanta, Dallas, N.O., Houston, and some others in no particular order). After making it to Tulsa (which was canceled), the dB's hit the Midwest, while LA headed to the West Coast with Chris in tow.

That's all my aged brain can recall.

Thanks, Tim, I honestly can't remember much about that tour. Sorry, wish I did.
