Re: blog on New Orleans trip

Peter:

Thanks for sharing that with us. I have been back to NOLA twice post-Katrina and it has been an emotional experience both times (and I have far less of a connection than you did/do). New Orleans is one of our greatest treasurers as far as cities go; what happened there was both tragic and outrageous. What is continuing to happen (or, more importantly, NOT happen) continues to be tragic and outrageous.

If you haven't already done so, you should pull up Chris Rose's latest column at nola.com (the Times Picayune's site). Chris has been one of the most eloquent chroniclers of post-Katrina New Orleans; his deeply personal account of his own depression and how ultimately he sought and received effective treatment is a lesson for us all.

Be well!

Gray
