I am in need of info for insurances on dogs - particularly order ones.

I find that am having to pay a lot more this year because my two are 9 and 11 years respectively - had a look around last night and got quotes from:

Virgin
M&S
More Than
Tesco
Debenham (who didn't return the quote for a greyhound)
Argos
ASDA
Pet plan - (they don't seem to do older dogs)
Direct Line

They are all quoting in the region of £30 per month per dog, which I think is a rip off. I have claimed twice in 10 years for one dog and that is all...so would be grateful for anyone who knows of a reputable source for insurance.

I have always been my own insurance company. Instead of paying £30 a month to an insurance company put it in a high interest savings account, (if you can find one today,) and when a vet bill comes in you have the cash. A standing order at your bank is all that's required. You just need a bit of luck with no vets bills for a few months to build up a reasonable sum.

We are with Tescos for our nearly 10 year old grey. They are about £22 a month, but we have never made a claim.
