On Sunday we have our new walk along the coastal path at West Wemyss.
Wemyss ( or weems ) is a Scottish word for caves and there are certainly many around here. Some even have prehistoric paintings on the walls.
The walk travels along the coast past Wemyss Castle, where Lady Victoria Wemyss, the Queen Mother's lady of the bedchamber, lived and continues to East Wemyss, then reverses.
Along the route you are sure to see cormorants airing themselves and eider ducks.
To get to the start take the coastal route A955.
If you are coming from the Kirkcaldy side it is about 2 miles beyond the car park for the Ravenscraig walk. Turn right towards West Wemyss just before Coaltown of Wemyss and drive downhill. At the sharp turn left into the village turn to the right to the car park.
If you are coming from Leven go through Coaltown of Wemyss and turn left just after the village down the road to West Wemyss, then see the above.
Starting time 11am.
We shall travel through the ancient village so pickupdapoo and all dogs on leads.
Weather is set fine so we will see you all on Sunday for a very nice walk.
