Out of my way...but wound up here!

Hello Peter (& Chris and Gene and Will) -

I was just listening to "Out of My Way" and was lamenting to my wife that I'd lost track of you. She remembers when I played "Mavericks" incessantly early in our marriage.

So I used the "Google Oracle" and was delighted to eventually wind up here...only to learn that you cats are in cahoots again. Great News!

Do you guys (that is, all but Chris) remember a gig you did on the last night of REM's Reckoning tour at the Tower Theater in PA? You did your set. REM did their set, and then you all joined up to form a "super group" for a third set? I recall the final song was an a capella "Moon River" in honor of Bill Berry's parents who were in attendance. Great memory!

I'm thrilled that there's talk of a Mavericks sequel, and of a new dB's album!

I will start checking this site regularly for news. You guys have something special together, I'm very happy for both you and your fans that you're collaborating again.

Warm regards,
Alan

PS for Chris, I've enjoyed Fireworks and the VOTE album you did with YLT, too.

Oh yeah, I remember the Tower. Didn't we also do "Sloop John B"? Glad you're still up for listening, and welcome aboard. If you've been married since "Mavericks" came out, then you're doing REAL good!

Yes! I remember that!
One more piece of personal trivia: Mavericks was the first album I digitized to MP3 (no, I didn't share it.) This was before any web-based database had the CD info to sync up to - I remember entering the song titles manually.
"I Know You Will" is simply haunting. Man, you really know how to get me with just the perfect chords, lyrics, harmony and production.
Best,
Alan H.
