That is a sign that it is time to get my copy of "The Sound of Music" back into the cd player.

I just want you to know that I don't say this lightly at all (I mean I just don't go around to chat rooms and write this everywhere): Sound of Music was just an unbelievably great album. It's one of those "if I was stranded on a deserted island and could only choose three albums" type of deal. I confess I have a pretty big ignorance (relative to your other fans) here on similar bands/albums that have the same type of harmony/jingle/lyrics, etc. as Sound, could everyone tell me what those are? Thanks everyone.

Hey Peter, a South Korean Film Crew came with me to my mother's house for her to look through the devastation. Even they had tears in their eyes. But I know I don't have to tell you what that felt like since I know how much you lost. As we were looking through the rubble, I found The Sound of Music Vinyl stuck to the back of a Red Rockers album. The cover didn't make it but the disc was fine. When I got back to Illinois I put it on the turntable. I agree that it is one of the great albums. I'm very proud to have recorded with you guys. Maybe the Sound of Music will find new life someday and reach the masses as it should have.

If you don't have any Big Star, they're definitely worth checking out. There's a single-disc compilation, the Big Star Story, and after that, within a few purchases you can have everything they've recorded.

Yes. Recently, I had a radio show on a community station in Columbia MO for a couple years. It was a labor of love spinning all my favorite country, pop, rock and soul records.
I named the show "Sound Of Music" w/ Spencer. 'nuff said.
