Death Garage tune

I brought "Stands-ins for deciBels: a tribute to the dB's" to work today to brighten the cube. I've been grooving on this for a while, but there is one song I do not recognize. Cut 12 is "Death Garage", performed by Noel Coward's Ghost. I checked all the 45's listed in the Discography section here, I've searched the older posts for a reference, and I've checked the songs on "Mavericks" and "Paris Ave" and "Ride the Wild Tom Tom"...

Where is the original dB's version of "Death Garage" located? Is this an unreleased tune? Or possibly something done live and never recorded? This has bugged me since I got the tribute CD, but only now have I had some time to research and post the query.

Re: Garage tune

"Peter Holsapple of the H-Bombs," Car Records, 1978. 45 rpm produced by Chris Stamey, recorded Nov. 25. Also includes "Big Black Truck" and "96 Sec. Blowout."

Re: Death Garage tune

And for the record, the dB's did perform this P.H. preB's song at their earlier gigs (it's shown up on a couple of live bootlegs from that era). Also, there was one legitimate release of "Death Garage" performed live by the dB's. There was a 1981 Stiff Records sampler album, where some U.S. groups shipped off to London to perform promotional gigs, and the LP was released with two songs by each band (others included the Bongos, Raybeats and Fleshtones). The LP is called "Start Swimming" (STIFF-1), and can usually be found for sale on eBay, or possibly at your local used record store (if you still have one in your area). The other song by the dB's on this LP is Chris's "We Should Be In Bed".

Re: Re: Death Garage tune

Thanks to Mr Chips and Rick for updating me on the Death Garage tune. I had thought it odd that it wasn't on a dB's album. I may also have to dig up that Start Swimming comp on Stiff as I'm a fan of those other bands as well.
