set-list questions thread?

I'd be interested in a thread that would have

a) the ONE song that would be the most missed if left off a dB's set list

b) the one "left-field" choice that would be most appreciated

(For example: My "a" would be "Love Is for Lovers" and my "b" would be "Looked at the Sun Too Long" [which I feel certain we won't play but nonetheless . . .])

Any takers?

Re: set-list questions thread?

In that vein, I'd say:
1. "Ups and Downs"
2. A cover of "Pushin' Too Hard" by The Seeds.
It just seems like a good song for you guys to do.
EW

Re: set-list questions thread?

Thanks for opening this up Chris.

A. Black & White (the first song I ever heard by the dB's and the one forever linked in my mind, the WOW factor was pretty big the first time I heard this)

B. Tear Jerkin' (thought this may not be all that "left field".

Re: set-list questions thread?

A- Neverland

B- Excitement (This was actually on the setlist at the first reunion show in Charlotte in 1988-it was to be the second encore song after "Amplifier"--but we all know what happened at that show...)

Re: Re: set-list questions thread?

That goes double for me on "Excitement"!

Re: set-list questions thread?

Wow! Great thread. My choices:

a. Black and White

b. We Were Happy There

Re: set-list questions thread?

a. Black and White
b. (I Thought) You Wanted to Know

Now if you come to San Francisco, I'll be a happy camper!

Re: Re: set-list questions thread?

Dittos across the board, Erik!! Especially on your San Fran item, now that I've had to scrap my plans to attend the Bowery gig.

Come west, guys....PLEASE!!!!!

Re: set-list questions thread?

Sorry Chris, but I don't think you are on any of these:

a1. Love is for Lovers

a2. Amplifier

b. Ride the Roller Coaster

Re: set-list questions thread?

Great thread.
a. B & W
b. Darby Hall

Re: set-list questions thread?

...and another thought, since someone mentioned "Excitement": What about songs like "Cara Lee" and "Angels"? Can they be fit into a live dB repertoire?

Re: Re: set-list questions thread?

A. Happenstance
B. What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted

Re: Re: Re: set-list questions thread?

a. Neverland
b. White Train (would love to see Will sing one)

Re: Re: Re: Re: set-list questions thread?

A. Big Brown Eyes.
B. Think Too Hard
B2: When We're Alone (the "It's Alright" version)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: set-list questions thread?

Gotta second "Think Too Hard". In fact, I want to hear that played live so bad, I'll pass on any other recomendations. It got huge airplay on WXRT here in Chicago and still gets played a few times a year. I know it's a Peter song, but it would sound great with another layer of guitar and some sparce harmonizing from Chris. It just about broke my heart not to hear it at the Hideout Festival.

Re: set-list questions thread?

A. Black and White
B. We Should Be in Bed

Re: set-list questions thread?

a) In Spain

b) I'm In Love

Re: set-list questions thread?

A) Neverland
B) Barometers, Thermometers

Re: Re: set-list questions thread?

A) play anything you want!
B) I don't think these are really obscure at all, but what about "From a Window to a Screen" or "I Feel Good (Today)"; I'm not sure how often these have been played live as I've only seen the band once and that was last year in Hoboken

I can't wait for the show regardless!
